For many families, summertime includes a lot of swimming time. Dogs joining pet owners on lakeside, oceanside or poolside adventures should abide by the following tips:
Do not leave pets unsupervised around a pool.
Not all dogs are good swimmers, so if water sports are a big part of a pet-owning family, they should introduce their pets to water gradually.
Make sure all pets wear flotation devices on boats.
Dogs should not drink pool water because chlorine and other chemicals can cause GI upset.
