Author: | Question by sirdraco7: Flying international with Catnip, will there be any issues? In a little less than a week I(who lives in the US) is flying to chile to visit a long time friend. I plan to bring some catnip toys for my friends cat to play with as they don’t have catnip down there. I have 4 small toys that are sealed and still tagged and everything. 2 of the toys come with small bags of catnip. I’m wondering 2 things, will I, or Might I have an issue at all? I’m worried that someone will see it and think it’s weed. Seeing that it’s not weed(thus different smell), it’s a small amount and it’s sealed in their packaging that say “catnip cat toys” all over it I don’t think there is an issue, but I want to ask to be safe and sure. And is there any restriction at all to bringing catnip anywhere? I’m headed to Chile and want to make sure it’s not banned there for some reason or another. Most customs officials are usually proficient enough to recognize drugs when they encounter them. They can also “field test” for drugs right there- proving that it’s not weed. The plant thrives in north-temperate regions in well-drained soil in sun and may reach a height of five feet. It is frequently used in gardens for its decorative appearance, as well as its highly valued use as an insect repellent that inhibits pests, including aphids, beetles and ants, among others, and is especially effective when planted in vegetable gardens. It does not, however, repel cats; they love it and are fascinated by it! The plant is thought to induce feline purring and relaxation (after producing an odd, frenzied state), and they also love it because it ultimately sedates their prey, including mice and birds. One of the commercially valuable uses of Catnip is in stuffed cat toys; and, of course (and of major importance), the cut tops and leaves have been used for centuries in herbal medicines. The Mohegans made a tea of Catnip for infantile colic, and it was also used historically in the United States to induce sweating and to cure colds. | Question by : Is there any reason why I can’t use kitty litter as hermit crab bedding? Ok, so I went to: Petsmart today, and, my Mom suggested that, for my hermit crabs, we try cat litter. We got some, but, It NOT SCENTED! I tried to find a link for it, but, nothing came up! So, my question is: “Is there ANY reason why I can’t use cat litter as hermit crab bedding?” I cleaned their tank today, and, It’s deep enough for them to molt. It seems GREAT! My families pet cats being curious. I have filmed local wildlife, my families pet Goldfish, and small frogs at a museum, but never our pet cats, until now. The black cat is named ‘Sid’ and the other is named ‘Kitty’. During the video, they didn’t do much; they were pretty tired and was mostly interested in the camera (and getting some food.) For those wondering, for some reason the cats prefer to sleep in cardboard boxes rather than proper cat beds, we have bought them cat beds many times before but they rarely ever go in them, they like cardboard boxes instead. | Question by tay tay!: i’m just wondering, is there something wrong with me? i was reading around questions a bit and i found a few asking whether it seemed as if they had adhd, and i know this isn’t “professional advice,” but i just want to see other people’s opinions on this. so here i go: when i’m in class or listening to other people, i can’t listen for very long without my mind “going off” somewhere. i could maybe listen for about three or four minutes and no matter how i try getting back, i’ll start thinking about other things (and it will be anything, what i’m going to do on the weekend, or about something that happened last year or last week, or even about my cat or something). even in normal conversation i could last for a few minutes then i want to talk about something else. when it comes to my homework, i start it, perhaps a question or two, then my mind wanders off again and it won’t come back. most times i don’t even finish it. when i’m reading it’s the same way, i can get into it and comprehend everything, but then i think about something else and stop reading, often not being able to get back into it. the only way my grades are affected is when i don’t finish my homework, or that i do bad on a test because i can’t get myself to fully study. also there are times that i don’t understand my homework or an assignment because i wasn’t paying attention in class, although i later would understand it (either by a moment in which i was paying attention, by somebody else, or i just catch on). i don’t even think this has to do with it, but there are times that when i’m taking a test or something and i think of the right answer, but i find myself writing another one (i’m not sure if it was because i was thinking about it, or if i just wrote it). if it weren’t for these things, i’d be doing rather well in school. i never really noticed this until now because when i was in grade school i got away with it much easier. now that i’m in high school, this is starting to become a problem. also, this isn’t just school. even at home i start something for my mom and not even finish it because i start thinking about something else and get distracted about it. even in writing this thing it took a while because i got distracted. in your opinion, could this be adhd (or some other condition), or is this just me being a person? (and i’m sorry if this doesn’t fit “mental health,” i’m not entirely sure where it’d fit.) oh i know i’m a dumbass (; sadly porn won’t help with my problem, thanks so much for the offer though! i am sorry this is so long. My cat had 5 kittens…all gorgeous and I have homes found already for all of them which is great. But the smallest little “runt” of the litter I am worried about. They are 4 weeks old and are now mobile, running around investigating. But the little guy seems lost among them. He doesn’t keep up with them, his body is very wobbly and shakey and he takes little steps and just normally stays near where I put him. I don’t like the look of his eyes either. I have tried to find out if he is blind by waving my finger in front of his face, sometimes he seems like he responds, sometimes he doesn’t. He has incredibly wide eyes, they look out of focus though. His head is proportionally larger then his body. Is there something wrong with this poor little kitty?

In fact, they will try to impress their owners by bring in “trophies” they hunted that are either very small or even twice their size. This is the cat to get. They usually have very long legs, are extremely curious and are constantly on the move. These cats also live very long lives, and bring much joy to their owners. Know better? I’m looking for a reasonable or low cost veterinarian in the San Francisco area. I have four cats that I’ve inharited when my neighbor died leaving them homeless. I can handle the routine exams and vaccinations just fine, but now two of them are showing signs of illness, (one has an eye infection of sorts, and the other is urinating blood). I know this going to be costly….and I have to do it….I want to do it….I just can’t do it at the outrageous cost that all the vet offices charge. Any referrals, advice or links would be appreciated.

The most important thing about having a rescue is to find a sympathetic vet to help since rescues usually dont have much money. I would contact local rescue and ask who they see. Alot of times they have retired vets who give checkups to new arrivals in the rescue.

Over 3 weeks in June 2008 the Louisiana SPCA hosted 14 campers in 7th and 8th grade. 4 cats were trained: Cornish, Mia, Nezzie, and Tux. After thier experiences with the campers they were put up for adoption. After the camp all the campers wrote about what thier favorite thing to do at camp was. Overwhelmingly, the answer was train the cats!

As far as I know, there are no “toy” breeds of cats.
As far as size, it depends on their upbringing, for the most part. I’m not sure that there is one smaller than the other.
