Getting a new cat here are some things to keep in mind.

First off try to find a veterinarian that you are happy and comfortable with before you bring your cat home. This will ase the stress of finding a vet after you bring your cat home, espcially if you are getting a kitten who will need wellness visits and shots, or for that matter any questions that you may have.

Find a bowl that is easy for kitten or cat to eat and drink out of. Make sure that it is easy to clean. Non-tip bowls are also very useful to help keeping eating and drinking area clean and free of spills.

This goes to finding a vet first. If you are getting a kitten, be sure to discuss what type of kitten food he/she recommends and when to switch to adult food. This also holds true if you are getting a adult cat or older cat, your vet is most helpful in suggesting type of food.

Choose a liter that you and your cat are comfortable with. Choose a comfortable liter box. There is a wide variaty, covered, automatic, etc.

Make sure to pick up some grooming supplies.

Kittens and adult cats need to scratch. Provide scratching posts and or furniture for them to call thier own. There are many uniqueplay centersavailble.

Please do not forget toys. All cats love toys.

With this in mind you will be well on your way preparing for your new kitten or cat.
